I too heard of the "two stories same morph" thing. Two different people(one being Ralph Davis and I forgot the other...was it Kevin from NERD??) imported similar looking WC balls from Africa. The butter was labeled first, I believe. And Ralph Davis named his version the Lesser Platinum. And the two just derived from there...
I could be totally wrong, but this is the story that I've been told.

I think the Lesser is on top and the Butter on bottom.

Ralphs story on the lesser platty is a good one, read up on it on his website. what he imported didn't look like a lesser. also it wasn't nerd with the butters, I forget who though

The Bells imported the original line of Butters in 01'. RDR imported his line in 03'. Then there is RDR Lessers which were proven in 00'-01'.

Are they the very similar in appearance and function? Absolutely

Are they the same? No one is named butter and the other lesser

I'd call the top one a Lesser and the bottom a Butter...even though I think they are basically the same...

What the huh? RDR has his line of Butter and his Lessers which derived from the platty daddy. The Bells imported the original line of Butter.

    So 3 different lineages.
    Bell Butter 01'

RDR Lesser 00'-01' (From the Platty Daddy)
    RDR Butter 03'

Most haven't, that's why I am posting about this. I did my research and then verified my above results with both the Bells and RDR.

Bell Butter ( original line) 01'
    RDR Butter 03'

    Two different linages of Butters.
