    Newbie

    New member.

My Christmas present from my wife is to pick out a ball python.

I've been out of reptiles for a while, my last snake was a ball pytyon I had from young.

A great snake, and veteran of many renaissance fares.
Also a great wife, when we lost power years ago, in an apartment with electric heat, in the winter, ie 35 outside, and 50 inside, the BP slept with us to keep warm.

Later, I gave him to a friend after grad school, because I wasn't having enough time to make sure "monty" (yes, not very original, I know)
was having a lot of out of the habitat time.

Before that I had a reticulated python as a class snake when I taught high school. If no students had any issues, we left him wander a round some times.

He was 8 feet, so he wasn't going to get lost.

as a Kid I had a redtailed for 5+ years

    So Howdy.

I stopped myself from running to petco today after I read a bit on captive hatched.

I'm going to set up a terrarium any maybe see if local (SE PDX, OR) breeders have some young or see what I can find in January at the reptile expo in wislonville.

As I'm reading up on morphs, I keep finding that some have a greater changes of issues, (kincked, etc).

so are some interesting ones, that are as healthy as 'norms' and similar in price?

I've always like the normal coloring of BPs so maybe I can save myself spending serious $$ on morphs.

Hi and to BP.net!! You'll find a lot of great info here, so don't hesitate to ask! I love pastels and they are quite affordable, if you like the coloration of normals then that's what you should get!! Gotta get what you like!

I agree with Steve, pastels are pretty cool and I picked up mine for $66, they will usually sell for about $100 give or take. Spiders are also fairly cheap but can have head wobble.
