It's weird sometimes what people decide to be against... My husband and I are devout Christians and we adore our snake. God made them and he cares for all of his creation. Satan took the form of a serpent to deceive Eve, but he also takes the form of man all the time, so perhaps we should cut ties with those vile creatures as well?
My spiritual mentor told me just the other day to promise her to get rid of my snakes when I have children. I told her that was like telling me not to have a cat because people are attacked and killed by lions.
