Using Hardwood Bark Mulch as substrate...

I was thinking about using hardwood bark mulch as substrate for my collection in their tubs.

Does anybody currently use this and have anything positive or negative to say about it?

I know it can be dyed as well and was curious to know if anyone had any knowledge to whether or not that would affect a ball python. My main concern would be if there were bugs in the mulch (as it is kept outdoors) that could harm the snake.

I'm interested in hearing what people have to say about this as well...

I buy the 56L bags of Cypress mulch from Lowe's for $2.00, they last a lifetime and iv never had problems with it (ex: parasites, injuries, mold, etc.). It works great and its cheap, plus they hold humidity very well.

Viperkeeper on youtube mentioned that is what he has started using in his enclosures. I have thought about it as well, just haven't made the 'jump' to try it out.

If I was to try it, I would probably PAM it every time it was changed or I added a little.
