    Red eyed croc skink care?

So I have my girl in a 10 gal. My room is about 75. And I spray her enclosure at least twice a day. She's on a mixture of coconut and moss.(I think gotta double check can't remember this second for some reason... Brain fart)
Anyway she has a water bowl that takes up about 1/4 of her cage as well as two fake plants to hide on as well as one hide.
I also feed her 10 crickets every other day and powder them in calcium about twice a week.
What do you feed yours? I tried wax and super worms but she ignored them.
I feel like I should get a heat pad for her. But I'm not sure where I would put it? Maybe under water so water isn't cold when she soaks? Or side of tank? Plus not sure if she really needs it.
Also not sure how much/often I should hold her? I pretty much leave her alone.
I also hear they do well in a pair but is her cage to small for a male?

I guess I'm just looking for a how do you care for yours? There isn't a lot of info on them and what I find is all mixed. Just wanna make her happy :3

Howdy fellow croc skink owner! There are not many caresheets out there for these guys. I have had mine for a few months. It's still juvenile enough that i cannot tell what sex it is. I am thinking female, but I have only ever seen females (or at least other skinks that looked identical to this one) and though i hear you can tell by the back footpads, there is no sign for me to see!

Anyway, I have mine in a 10 gallon with a solid lid to keep in moisture. I have a small water dish on one end, and a large soaking dish on the other...which is where she poops, once a day. She just gets in there and poops! so it's an easy set up to clean, at least. Rarely will she poop on the substrate. I also have coconut husk and moss. A thin layer of each. I keep it VERY moist in there, as they are supposedly semi-aquatic....even though they sure don't look like they should be. I don't mist as much as i should, but it is very damp in there.

She has two hides, and a branch running along the bottom (it's a moisture soaked root, actually) She will wander around sometimes, but spends most of her time right dab in the middle of the tank under a hide.
(That hide is really in the middle. The root can be hidden under on the cool end, next to the "poop water dish" but she never goes there)

I keep super worms or meal worms in there ALL the time...and she hunts them, and digs them out of the wood hides! She loves crickets though, and if one goes in the water dish she will come from across the tank and get it out while it's still wiggling.

I never feed the worms, every couple days i just drop more in. She has a tiny 4 watt heating pad on the "warm" end. I have seen her in the hide over it. I need to check the ambiant temperature. It's been colder here lately, but she hasn't seemed to mind the change at all. She's pretty regulated with the solid lid actually.

She's had a couple nice sheds. I clear out the whole tank once a month to prevent mildew or anything.
A male and a female can live together in a 10 gallon, until they get big, then you can move up to 15..or even 20. They will never need more than that, though. Of course you could, but i mean it's not necessary. Females will fight together, and so will will males, so it has to be a female male combo if housed together...and they DO like to be housed together. I'm waiting to get another one until i can figure out for sure if it's a female! Females are supposed to have larger heads.
There is also something to do with the vent, like a slight buldge above the vent, towards the belly side, on males. Supposedly! They are still juvenile if their necks are yellow...i *think*....that was a translation from a german site. lol

Well my girl is a full grown adult. :3 She's got the red ring around the eye and such.
Maybe I have to much coconut in there? It's like 1 1/2 in or so then the layer of moss. I've heard they like to dig but she never does.
I was worried about just letting the worms run lose.
She didn't seem much interested in them and I feel like maybe it would be gross to have them in it free roaming? o.o I was thinking of getting another worm bowl thing to put them in. (I have one for my hedgehog and they can't get out)
Haha my girl always poops in her water dish too.
I'm worried she's not active enough. I put 10 crickets in there two days ago and she still has like 4 more in there. Yet she's pooping.
I tried putting a climbing branch in there. I need to find something that doesn't mold. I put a wood branch in there and it was moldy in like 2 days. Gross.
She also has like a white spot on her that I'm worried about. I'll see if I can take a pic later. o.e

Awesome! I'm glad to read as much information about these guys as possible as I may get a pair soon. Might have to start my own thread to ask a few advanced questions, but first, I'll do a few more reviews on all the care sheets out there, and I'll be back with questions.

Purple: did you get your pair? How do you like them?

I wonder if I can not feed crickets. They're a huge pain and I think they're some how escaping which I don't like. Opinions?

i don't feed crickets too often. worms are so much easier, though i know the crickets are probably better for her. I have a very low substrate level, so that she can get to the worms more easily. They, seem to eat the wood hide and branch that are in there, and she likes to try to pick them out of it.

I've been surprised that this whole set up hasn't turned out nasty, but she eats those worms before they can get gross and gross everything up. She only poops in the water dish, like i said, which is great, so i change that daily. The rest of it stays moist and humid, the temp stays pretty much the same since i keep a solid lid on it. She's thriving and always has a full belly! She's shed twice.
I have a couple pics of her in my gallery

oh i meant to say that when i do feed crickets i only put a few in at a time, because those nasty things will nasty up the place pretty fast, or just go off somewhere and die and make a mess. I think i don't put more than five in at a time, and that lasts two days. I've seen her catching and eating the worms. She LOVES it when they crawl into the extra water dish, that's lower than the "poop" one, because then they wiggle and are way easier to catch. I've never had to clean a cricket or a worm out of a water dish, unlike other animals i've had *lol*

14 snakes, 12 bugs, 1 skink, 1 frog, 2 dogs, and tons of fresh and saltwater fish. I've also begun snake rescue. What a ride!

-i also have the rain forest moss in there but i dries up quick what is the best substrate to use that stays moist.
-he is not very active i wake him up to eat everynight and he eats 3 mealworms and then walks around for a little while but that is it.
    - also he is still very small and he is starting to shed what can i do to help him shed??
