Is There Something Wrong With This Burm?
At work we have an albino burm. I'm a little worried about it. It's about 2 1/2' long and does not do ANYTHING. It also tries to bite. All day it sits in the same spot. I go in once a week and its always in the same spot. It eats, flicks it tongue a LOT too. She has a hide in her cage and I am POSITIVE it is not too big. Everything in the cage seems fine. Ambient temp is around 80, hot side 87-90, cool side 76-78. Humidity is always about 45%. Definitely does not have mites. Now about the biting. It doesn't actually bite... But it does try. I handle the balls all the time and I'm pretty sure I'm not holding it wrong... I always thought that burms were really nice. Now here's the weirdest thing... If I hold it it freaks out and starts to panic. If someone else does it just sits there and chills! Is it possible it just doesn't like me?

Sounds stressed out
Being at "work", it probably sees some high traffic and vibrations

What do you mean by at work? Like you work at a pet shop or its an "office pet"?

Oh sorry! I work at a pet shop. I went in today and I'm beginning to think somethings up. It was soaking in its bowl and it was submerged. It took it's head out for a while but it would submerge itself for like 2 mins at a time...

Re: Is There Something Wrong With This Burm?
Burmese are a whole different thing than ball pythons, trust me. When I got my little guy he was under three feet and bit, hissed and acted all sorts of grumpy whenever handled. From what I understand burmese tend to be more aggressive as babies, but once they grow up they do "grow out of it." Which my guy finally has. :]
As for the staying in one spot.. My burm does that too. He uses his hides, then he doesn't. He just.. curls up and sits there for days! I don't think staying put is anything unusual. He also soaks. ;] Even when humidity is perfect, he'll soak and soak. From what I've seen with a burm, those things aren't anything to raise alarm. They're pretty different in personality from balls. :]
