Is this a burn or something else?

    Hi everyone!

When I took my little girl out to feed her, and saw this. It has only just happened in the last couple days. Since she burrows in her bedding (Dumeril) I thought perhaps she burned herself on her UTH by laying on the glass? I now have added eco carpet under the bedding over the UTH as well as a new thermostat. But just curious, is this a burn? I've never seen anything like it on my other snakes, and it just looks like she has no scales there. Only skin. Here is a pic.

What is this? And is it something I need to treat? Thanks!

Do you have anything sticky in the enclosure? It looks like her scales were ripped off.

No, nothing sticky. But I agree! That's why I didn't know what it was or what to do. :/

I myself wouldn't put anything on it unless I saw some kind of open wound. If you insist you could put some of the cream based neosporin on it.

I can't really tell from just this picture. Are the scales there? Is it just a different coloration? Does it feel different to the touch? Does it bother her to be touched there?

My Dum has is all cream underneath but has a spot the same size in the same place of pure white scales (I don't know if it was from birth or a injury from before I got her).

Edit: I just looked at her again and its in the exact same spot- she's not cooperating for a picture. I'll try again latter.

Her scales are gone there. It's just soft pink skin. But she doesn't particularly mind being touched there. She doesn't act like it hurts or bothers her.

As far as I know, most all Dumerils have that spot, to some degree. Mine does too. I don't know why.

Yup. Mine do too. I asked a breeder about it and he told me all dumerils have it.

Add another "My Dumerils has this too" for me, although its not quite as pronounced.
