We have 13 males and 28 females

I share males as needed, some males get to breed 3 or 4 females and others only get 1 female

I have 8 males to 16 females breeding this year. One make is only breeding one female and two other males (my lesser and cinny ) that are breeding more females than the others.

Right now I have 2 males and 7 females. Only one of the males is breedable, and only 3 females. But if all females were breedable, i'd throw him in there with all of them, given he eats fine and I give his enough rest. But I probably wouldn't pair a male with more than maybe 10 females and that's pushing it.

    Re: male to female ratio

I personally like the 1 to 4 ratio. I know males can see more females then just 4 but I like the ratio I mentioned above.

I say however many he wants or you have, though he does need rest and needs to keep eating. Each male is different though. Some can copulate a lot, some can't. The trick to getting the most out the males you want the offspring from, is have some waste males, normals and what not, and let them breed the girls the first one or two times, then throw in the male you want for the remainder of breeding. This allows the male you want to sire your clutches to breed longer and to more girls.

Depends on your boys. I have 7 breeder sized males, 2 of which are in there first season. My stub boys are each breeding 4 girls and the others are getting to see 2 each. Seems they can see more girls with more experience.
