The PS4 has been confirmed to come out between 2012 to 2014. (Most likely 2013 or 2014) and the Xbox 720 hasn't been actually confirmed yet. Microsoft however is hiring for the new design and whatnot of a new system which most likely confirms the 720. The Xbox 720 will probably come out around the same time as the PS4. Both systems are going to have the power to actually display full 1080p/i. Yes, the game you play now that say they display in 1080p/i actually don't.
