Red face New and Curious (:

    Hello,
Sorry >< i have quiet a few questions!
Im picking up a 2011 female ball in a week or less, and im pretty new to them, i have a corn snake, great little snake! Iv taken care of and helped out with friends boas and pythons, but have never had one my self.
Im worried about the whole picky eater situation! Haha The breeder says she eats both FT and live but prefuers live. Id be wanting to feed FT of course, Im just worried about what to do to keep her happy.
Do i leave her be for a week to get adusted? How often can i hold her? (i want her to be very comfortable with being handled), are females any different in personality and physical then males?
Im also worried about keeping it warm enough, and the humitity up.
Thanks all so much!! I just want to make sure i do everythin right for her!

Hi there and welcome to the forum Have you checked out our care sheet? Keeping her warm should be easy if you have an under tank heater and a thermostat. Also, female get larger than males by about a foot on average, that's the only difference. Give her a week to adjust then handle in small quantities as to not stress her out. Good luck

Good! Just make you you read that care sheet carefully before you get her and have it all set up, there's more to keeping these guys than throwing them in a tank

Welcome to BP.Net! After reading the care sheet you should go ahead and sit up her tub/tank prior to getting her so you can work out any issues prior to getting her so that when she comes home eveerything will be nice and ready for her.

Hello and welcome. Like you, this is my first bp and I'm new to this site as well. I have a corn snake too, and naively thought that taking care of my bp wouldn't be much different. BOY WAS I WRONG! lol Advice: Read, read, read, and read some more. Read the care sheets, old threads, books, and anything else you can get your hands on. I did everything wrong and now am back peddling to compensate.
