Bel vs Bel pastel vs Bel superpastel
Heya
I've heard that it's quite easy to tell a regular bel (mojave x mojave) from a pastel bel by looking at it's head. But are there any difference between a pastel bel and a super pastel bel?

Depends on the make up of the BEL. My Lesser Mojave BEL is pure white, so I cannot see how a pastel gene would make any difference.
I would like to see side by side picks of a Super Mojave and a Pastel Super Mojave

I do understand that it's very hard, or impossible, to tell on a pure white snake. Maybe I was unclear, but I was asking about the mojave x mojave bel, which is not pure white.

Mojave x Mojave has that grey head. Everything else tends to be pretty clear. There's one that tends to have a yellow stripe on its back but I can't remember what pairing that is.. Other genes that are present in BELs are not easily visible. I read somewhere that when other pattern genes are present you can see them under a black light but I can't confirm that LOL. The point of having other genes in a BEL is only for if you plan on introducing it into other breeding projects.. (I hope this makes some sense.. I'm exhausted lol)

The yellow stripe you're thinking of is the Ivory (Yellowbelly x Yellowbelly), not related to BELs.
I wouldn't want to breed or buy a BEL that has anything more than two genes in it. It would be far cheaper and more straightforward to just get a Pastave if you really wanted a combo morph for breeding. Adding Pastel to the BEL complex just doesn't make sense to me.

Makes sense to me to do it for the purpose of having more complex breeders, not so much as an end product if they look the same with/without the pastel.

Does anyone have a pic handy of the Pastel Super Mojave?
For the other BELs one parent would have to be Super Pastel to know you hit the gene. I doubt pastel would show up under black light on a BEL. Maybe spider or pin would?

Here's a bad picture of a pastel super mojave.

I purchased her with the idea of producing pastel crystals or super pastel crystals...

Looks like the head is still grey, but the white has a lot of yellow. I agree it would be a powerful breeder.
