I've heard that soaking can actually do more harm than good if you want a clean shed. The water saps their skin of the oils necessary to get it off in one piece.
I find that just misting the tank when they're shedding is sufficient. The scales left over from her previous shed aren't going to harm her. I'd just leave her alone to minimize stress. She'll be back to normal after her next shed.
That's if they don't mind being moved... mines mood doesn't seem to change during shed :X
