Has anyone used Vision brand cages? I was looking at some... they are the look that I want. Are they pretty decent quality? Do you know of anything comparable?

they are comparable to boaphile slyplastics and neodesha ( the only ones I have actually had in my hands) the vision is a great enclosures I like it quite a lot to be fair they are very similar to the others I have seen and don't stand head over heels above the others they are all good all had things I like and dislike about them the vision sags more than the others have but is easier (more efficient) to heat through the bottom. I have no direct complains past the sagging and to get the efficiency that is the price to be paid.

What do you mean by sagging?
In the description of the one that I am looking at, it says "under tank heating". Does that mean that they come with the heating already installed? Do you know whether they're easy to use with a thermostat?

i have a vision enclosure i like it. they have some issues with humidity.

The bottom started flat but over time it has dropped down some sagged. It has dropped about 3/4 of an inch I actually made a support to the centre of the enclosure to help hold it in place. No it did not come with a UTH. It does heat quite efficiently with one however. The PVCx of my sly and boaphile is not as easily heated it needs more heat longer to get the same internal temps.

I have not had too many issues with humidity it is currently in a room that is now (just checked) reading (accurate hygrometers) 39% and the vision is at 61% and I don't recall the last time I misted anything. I have not altered the vision at all. I would be concerned about the low ventilation if I it was farther apart than this!

Visions sag.

Visions are not friendly to either UTHs or RHPs.

Visions are expensive.

Visions have some weird nooks and crannies that snakes hide in. With ball pythons this is not as big an issue as it is with, oh, venomous snakes.

Visions don't make Skippy very happy.

Oh Skiploder, what I like about you is that you never tell people what they want to hear- you say the plain old flat out no frills truth. Which enclosures do you use?
I would rather not use tubs, I want something aesthetically pleasing and I do want to be able to see my animals in a... leisurely sort of way. Anything you can recommend for this.

Depends on the species and the age.

For the adult pits, I have 4' freedom breeder racks. For the drys, the 6' freedom breeder racks. The owner of Freedom Breeder lives about 10 minutes from me. I can order a rack and pick it up at his house - saving shipping charges and any wait times.

For juveniles, I have a hodge-podge of Boaphile, freedom breeder and old Sandemar racks that seem to weight about a ton, plus a few I made myself from PVC.

For arboreal cages, again a mixture of those I made and some custom sized ones from AP.

If you are looking for a quick turn around, Barr's can whip something up quick and get it to you pretty fast. For the cages with longer turn around times, AP is nice, Boaphiles do the job, and I've got a couple of Repti-Rack cages lying around that look real swell.

Again, the sticking point with most of the major cage builders is the long lead times. I am currently 8 weeks into a supposed 5 week build on a custom arboreal cage from AP. While they have been gracious enough to waive the shipping charges, it's always nice getting a cage quickly - especially when you paid for the damn thing two months ago. In that regard, Reptile Basics and Barr's are great.
