Some pics of my new-ish setup!

Hey all! I just made some new hides and got some new tank decor, and I have never shared pics of my set up, so I just thought I would for fun and giggles.

Before you say anything, no, I do not get my temp and humidity reading from the cheap a$$ PetCo gauges on the wall. My snake arrived in the mail two days before my laser thermometer did, so I ran out and bought those and a bunch of those little sticky temp strips so I had SOMETHING for two days. I tossed the stickies, but the gauges are just still there thought I completely ignore them.

Warm side and cool side. Each side had a red hide bowl, a piece of driftwood, and a plant. I have a humid hide in the middle, made of tupperware filled with sphagnum moss.

I had to drill a hole in the top corner of the tank to shove the probe for my thermostat. I didn't even consider that being a problem with a front opening viv until I was setting everything up and was like, "How is THIS supposed to work?!" Power tools solve everything.

A curious little nose trying to figure out what the heck I'm doing. My bowl hides are real sophisticated: I cut a hole in a bowl and melted the edges smooth with a lighter. Haha. May look a little crude, but she sure loves them, and they are the perfect size!

    What do you think?

Nice use of the bowls. And yes, power tools do solve alot. And, they are so much fun to shop for...

wow looks awesome! I love the vision enclosures! I have 3, they suck at holding humidity but I think they are really cool looking. I bought them for my big breeder females. I'm only using 1 ATM. Looks really cool, I love what you did with it.

    Cheers.

Yeah, I never would have considered buying a vision enclosure because of the insane cost, but I got mine completely free. My fiance's dad used to breed corn snakes, and many years ago, he got a few ball pythons for his collection and kept them in these, he has five more empty ones in his garage. I went over to ask if he had any kind of enclosure I could buy from him, get it a little cheaper, and just GAVE me this thing, which is easily the best enclosure he had. I love it, it looks great in my living room, and it is great for BPs because it is dark and secure.

I wish there was some type of light I could put on top that didn't give of heat and wouldn't disturb the snake, just so I could see her better in it. Haha. I love wishing for things that defy physics. I have a red lamp that I put on the top right after cleaning day to dry the driftwood faster and raise the humidity a little (only time a bulb will increase humidity... give it something to dry) But I don't like to have it there any other the time because of the well known evils of bulbs.
