Re: where do you get your feeders?

As for storing, I've heard 6 months on frozen.
Think I read that it's up to 1 year if they have fur, 6 months for pinks.

Re: where do you get your feeders?

also, i don't really want to store them with the food i have in my freezer lol.
I found a large tupperware container that takes up about 1/2 of my freezer space. I just store the bags with feeders in that, out of sight out of mind..

The vacuum sealed bag prevents air from touching the rats. Air is what causes freezer burn. Vacuum sealed bags last a lot longer, as long as they are not opened. The one thing I like about the Big Cheese is their vacuum sealed bags do not contain tons of rodents. My Rodent Pro order has 100 pinkies in a freezer bag. Big Cheese vacuum seals 50 per bag. The smaller portions, not exposed to air would make them last longer.

Also, from what Big Cheese says, they have several different size boxes. With Rodent Pro, you have to keep ordering until you fill a box - to save on shipping charges. I like Rodent Pro, but I've heard better things about Big Cheese, which I why I'm going to give them a try next order.

I only have 2 snakes, so buying bulk online isn't an option for me. XD I buy my frozen rats from a local breeder, usually about 6-8 weeks worth at a time. Much cheaper than the overpriced feeders at pet stores!

Re: where do you get your feeders?

I only buy at expos. I'm cheap and don't like to pay the shipping. My theory is that $50 can just go towards more feeders. lol

Big Cheese Rodents for me as well. Their service and offering options are great. I lucked out since we are in the same state, works out great.
