    Insulating Tub

Hello there everyone, just looking for some opinions and good ideas. I have a terrarium setup and am switching to a tub sometime this week. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem, but I live in Montana and it gets pretty cold in my house in the winter (about 70 in the basement where I live), but I run a space heater during the night bringing the ambient temp up to around 80-86 at night. The problem is I am going home for winter break for a couple weeks and decided to leave my boy back. Just wondering if anyone has had to insulate their tubs in someway and if they have it would be greatly appreciated if they shared how they did it! Thanks in advance!

O and by the way moving him to a warmer part of the house is not really an option unless last resort (roommates ain't the biggest fans)

You might try an insulated cooler on its side so the open end is not at the top. I'd guess that this alone will not be enough and you will need some sort of secondary heat. The simplest is a T-stat with a heat source on the cooler itself (back) set to deliver 80º with the probe dangling at the lid of the tub. I'd advise a fail safe as well.
