Question Who insures their reptile collection?

I was wondering who provdes this type of coverage, what it covers, if it's reasonable, and how many of you guys/gals do it?

I have not insured the animals (not a breeder so they are pets and I cannot insure my pets) but the rack t-stats and everything else is insured (providing it is CSA or UL approved) It doesn't cost very much 300 a year or so.

My business insurance covers my business gear and liability insurance too. I would assume that a breeder can carry both too... it would likely be very expensive however my business spends just over 400$ a month in insurance.

I am quite certain that you can pay for breeding stock insurance my brother breeds champion dogs and they are insured but I am also certain it is going to be a major expense and difficult to collect on if only one animal is effected.

No one else has or has heard of a place to insure your collection?

You can buy insurance on anything.. but as I've never pursued such a thing, I don't know who would write you such a policy.

I looked into it once, but it'll be a year or two before we're into a position to implement it. I did find an insurance agency that gave me a quote on it. They weren't obscure. Just call around.
Try agencies that insure farms and livestock.
I'm sorry that I don't remember their name. It might have been Farmers Insurance, or something like that.
