That sounds like a lot more work than it needs to be. Plus the tub won't hold heat well enough.
Here is a picture of mine, you have find old refrigerators/freezers everywhere. Just put an add up on craigslist for broken/old units. I got mine for $15 and used to use it in the garage for drinks.
