Personally I would halt the bleach to see if that could be poisoning them. I know you said its some but not others. Perhaps some are just more sensitive to the bleach. I would think as long as your lines aren't getting natural sun attn they wouldn't grow algae. Again dealing with a fish tank that's just what I've noticed.
So perhaps it's a little overkill.
