It's generally better and I've noticed that growth happens at a steady rate if you feed smaller meals more frequently. This is true especially if you are preparing to breed. They have slow metabolisms so too large of a meal has the possibility of actually rotting in their gut before if can be broken down into useful energy. Something like a 100 gram rat every 5 days for breeder females isn't a bad way to go. Maybe even smaller at 80 grams.
