    Best Thermometer/ Hygrometer?

I am trying to find a good thermometer and hygrometer that wont be too expensive. This will be for a single snake in a 20 gal aquarium. There will be a thermostat and heating pad.

So guys what do you recommend for a thermometer and hygrometer?

Everyone around here seems to like the Acu-Rite brand combined thermo/hygrometer with a probe. They can be found at Walmart for about 12 dollars. Myself, I am still looking for one, since they don't stock them in my city (perhaps not in Canada at all).

(As an aside: is anyone willing to get an Acu-Rite and ship it to me? I can't find it anywhere here.)

I actually don't like acurites at all. I had 3 and the last one was inside the specs just the others were returned as they were out side the allowable error (2ºF up or down temp and 8% RH) The hygrometer is an easy answer, an analogue calibrate able one. All the cheap digital ones usually develop accuracy issues. They are sensitive to dusk dirt and any type of salt (urine) and inside a snakes enclosure any or all of these often there. Analogues are not as sensitive to anything and the better ones with metal cards and adjustable readings are cheap and accurate and can be checked and changed if needed. Digital ones that have that ability are usually expensive and often change too easily (snakes have altered my one digital one)

thermometers are a harder issue generally they come in two types accurate and cheap. I know very few willing or able to foot the bill for accurate. (usually 200-3500$ depending on features and accuracy) I usually suggest a few 3-5 of the cheapest you can find check them against each other and only use the ones that are the closest to the same temp.

I can help get you one if you are willing to pay for the shipping.
