Your post was only up for 2 hours during early morning when few are online.
You should keep an eye on the remaining gecko, adding a sick animal to an enclosure with healthy animals is a very bad idea, now the 3 healthy ones were exposed to what killed the sick one. Quarantine is something that needs to be taken very serious. Since your others were exposed you might think about getting a necropsy done.

That's good, you don't want them getting sick. Still, watch them.
I'm sorry that happened, sounds like he was on his way out.
How was he being cared for?
And just a heads up--geckos don't get lonely. They are perfectly happy to be alone

I'm so sorry for your loss, I can only imagine taking in a gecko to save it and then have it die on you I hope you scolded your bf for being so irresponsible!

Sometimes they're just too far gone for good care to save them.
It could have been calcium or starvation, or parasites or poisoning(from cleaning items, room fresteners, etc). There's really no way to tell what was wrong without a necropsy, but if he was in bad shape you could probably just say "poor care" and keep a close eye on your other animals.
When a reptile is at the point of flopping around, it's most like in the last stages of dying, unfortunately. In the future, you might post any rescues you take in, with pictures and such, in order to get some advice when you get them. That way if anyone spots something that might be a concern, they could tell you how to try to fix it before the animal gets in the end-stages.
It could even be that if he was starved, you fed him and he got impacted because his digestive system was too shriveled to take in food at all. In that case, there would have been little you can do to help, just because he's just too sick.
I'm sorry he died, but you're right, at least now he's not in pain. I hope your other geckos are good and maybe you could make a thread with pictures of them? We all love to see pictures of pets!
