    FedEx Guy 4 Hours Late!

I'm really worried because the FedEx guy who is supposed to be delivering my new Dumeril youngin' is 4 hours late now! Do you guys think the snake will be okay? I imagine it is extremely stressful to have two plane flights and then be on one of those crazy trucks for 6 HOURS!

Any calming words? Has this happened to anyone before? And if so, did it all turn out okay in the end?

Re: FedEx Guy 4 Hours Late!

My last shipment of a new bp was shipped via fedex and was a little late but the driver had her up front with him in the heated cab because the box was clearly marked "live animal".

    Everything worked out fine.

I would call fedex and have them track the shipment for piece of mind.

    Good Luck.

If it was packaged properly it should be fine.
I had one show up 3+ hours late recently due to a storm in Memphis, they showed up nice and warm still.

Re: FedEx Guy 4 Hours Late!

I had a BP arrive 3.5 hours late once. She was no worse for the wear, but was less than happy with me when she came out of the bag! She settled down within a day or two, though.

Re: FedEx Guy 4 Hours Late!

Thank you everyone! I'm happy to report that after much pestering on my part, FedEx called the driver and had him bring her straight over. They claimed not to realize that it was a "live animal" even though it clearly said so on the box.

When the guy walked up to the door he was bouncing the box around like it was any old parcel and I immediately snatched it out of his hands saying, "It's alive!" He proceeded to respond with..."Oh!" Some people are beyond stupid.

But she made it no worse for wear! She had a poop while she was in the box, so I was in for a bit of a smelly surprise when I opened it. LOL! But as soon as I opened the bag she immediately came slithering out onto the towel I had placed, looked up at me, and wrapped her tail around my hand. It was by far one of the cutest things a new snake has ever done when meeting me. No biting! Yay! lol.

I snapped a couple of pictures, and then put her in her new tank and covered it partially with some towels so that she feels more secure. She's in the blue at the moment, but still gorgeous! She then took the biggest drink of water I have ever witnessed a snake taking. She's adorable, and since she has a couple of "X"s in her pattern, her name is Xena. <3

I'll post pics after I get them off my camera. :3

I had a shipment come in late today. They were all fine. The guy shipping me the snakes sent out 2 boxes yesterday and both late today. I also did a trade last week and both of our packages were late. I'm certain its because of the holidays, this is the worst time to be shipping things as everyone is trying to get their presents to each other and themselves.

Thank you! She was beautifully packaged. It's pretty hot still in Florida though. It was supposed to be in the 80s today, but it actually only made it to 70s thanks to the rain. She had her heat packs in there with her though, and was nice and toasty when I removed her from the bag. I was very pleased.

Glad to hear your baby shed out and that you are doing well with her! Congrats!

Over half of the snakes shipped to me have been handled in this fashion.
I had one driver walk up spinning the package in circles on his hand like it was a basketball

Glad your snake showed up fine, congrats!
