Sorry, you did not answer the quarantine question. Do animals that you intend to auction go into racks where there are any other snakes that are going up for auction? How long are your snakes isolated in quarantine from other snakes before being sold? You were asked a quarantine question and you responded with a husbandry care type answer.
Your terms and conditions state there are no warranties, no live delivery guarantees and no health guarantee and no genetics guarantee, is this correct? I've carefully read them and it says that live animals can not be returned.
To summarize, let me see if I understand this correctly:
- Zach comes on multiple forums and behaves badly.
- Once his identity has been discovered, you start posting for the company. He goes silent.
- Once his behaviors have been discussed, you (not him) apologize for his actions.
- You and Zach place a banner ad that says you sold snakes that you have not sold. You state that it isn't lying, it is marketing.
- There is no guarantee of live delivery.
- There is no guarantee of a healthy animal.
- There are no returns.
- You've intentionally chosen a business model that is known to be used by scammers.
Now, we're supposed to trust you? Pardon me if I'm still a little skeptical.

So, based on lies, which you have already admitted you have told, we are now supposed to believe that everything else you're saying is true.
Gotcha.
And this quarantine you're going to be doing the rack you made yourself to save money, you WILL be starting ALL snakes in a new timeline EVERY time you get in a new snake, right? Because if you're not doing that, why quarantine at all? Just for show? To add some credibility to what is patently a lie?
Gotcha.
How about this last second bid reset, let's just take a look at that. Seems sort of like rigging the roulette wheel when you stop and think about it. How could you possibly lose any money so long as you or someone you know is watching the bids to make sure your necessary minimums for profit are met? I'm sure neither you nor the mysterious zack would EVER know anyone who happened to be the lucky winner nor would either of you EVER prevent a snake from selling at a price that would cost YOU money.
At least not at first.
Of course, you are appealing to peoples urges to both win something for little or no investment and to beat out fellow bidders. That part is just good sound business.
However, your entire business is, as of now, based on lies.
I'm predicting that by June next year you guys are just another unpleasant memory.
This game may not be totally rigged all the time but there are so many red flags for me that I feel sorry for you if any bulls catch sight of your site.
Your overly pleasant demeanor is sure to lull all the kids who read it, well done there. And tossing zack into the flames whiles distancing yourself from his past actions should in no way be seen as you trying to manipulate readers into thinking that not only are you two different people but that only one of you craps out both ends. How nice of you for him, if he exists.
I live in So. Cal. not too far from Vegas and about a million indian casinos. You know what one of the best ploys they've EVER come up with to bring in more customers? The make sure that locals win big prizes every few months. So. Cal. housewife wins million dollar slot jackpot. Local dockworker wins 100K at blackjack, all the while hoping you don't realize that MILLIONS of dollars were made even after those shills were paid. Even if they weren't shills, the cost is so minuscule in comparison to the profit that it's good business to have them win and go public.
Gee, I wonder if you guys will do that when you decide you're well enough established to TELL THE BLOODY TRUTH.
No matter though. You'll make money, a dozen or so people will be happy. A few hundred, people are greedy, needy and love to compete, will make your xmas a very merry one indeed.
All in all, well played. You've managed to skirt a lot of scumbag pitfalls. Barely. Hope your tightrope act is well rehearsed because the net has been removed and some of us are pretty sure a fall is in the near future. Certainly for most of those foolish enough to go through your comes from established breeders and wonderful quarantine procedure, that fall is a foregone conclusion.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

I saw the Facebook ads as well. I was highly skeptical and still am. But I 'liked' their Facebook page anyway to see how this all plays out.
I guess only time will reveal who and what ballbids.com really is and whether or not they're truth or scam.

Hi again!
Let me give you an example scenario:
Say you place 20 bids, at the cost of $0.65 a piece (The average cost of a 100 Bid Package), and won an auction at a final price of $15, the total cost to you would be 15 + 0.65(20) = $28. if you lost the auction, the total cost to you would be $28 minus the final auction price, which is equal to $13.
I hope that makes sense!
-Avi =)
ok so based on that say i only post 1 bid on the animal and lose. bid was for $15
cost for bid 65cents i only pay 65cents not 15.65 correct?
and since you give 5 free bids for signing up if i place 1 bid for $15 and dont win i owe nothing until i run out of free bids?
i just want to make sure i understand this and it is as black and white as possible for not just myself but all others as well.

Sounds like a bunch of bs is spewing out of Avi and Zachs mouths ( if they are two different people )
I truly feel sorry for the people falling victim to these scams. But I will admit, after reading this entire thread, it amazes me people are still willing to " give them a chance"

We as hobbyist do everything we can to teach people to quarantine their animals and along comes this ploy that completely ignores true quarantine practices and they brag about it.
Let one of their snakes into my collection, ABSOLUTELY NOT.

I am not trying to sound rude...but I think you missed one...
- You keep saying that your "reputation is to important to loose" but it appears that the only reputation you have is already VERY tarnished....
I know I for one will be staying away!

Re: Ballbids.com
i also ask myself which reputation. i dont think they have one, cause i dont think they ever bred snakes (nothing bad about that tho).
avi doesnt has anything to do with the reptile business as far as i understood it, so he can care less about his rep, cause he doesnt breed snakes and doesnt wanna sell em.
but yeah- great idea to start such a scam business with a bunch of lies and greedy tactics...
i have faith though. when i look at the prices some animals get sold in other autions by breeders with a good rep. i dont think theyll have enough "customers" to fetch the price they paid for the snakes, plus the website etc- also the money they dont earn in other jobs, cause they dont have the time too.
i think a few month and this liitle enterprise will go down, just as zachs bp forum...
