Flexwatt Problem
So I recently had a friend wire two pieces of flex watt together they worked for about a day, and now they don't. I originally didn't want him to wire it, but my boyfriend assured me he knew what he was doing. I don't know how to do it on my own and just checked to find that they aren't generating any heat. Any ideas why they have stopped working? I usually use UTH's.

I had the issue of them stopping working when we had a power outage for a few days and I had to move all my racks to my parents house (they had power...and were thrilled to take in my snakes.. ). Turned out the clamped metal thing came a little loose. It was still holding on there, but was loose enough that it broke the connection. I ended up re-splicing the wire and connecting a whole new metal thing, then reclamping it in a different spot on the flexwatt. It fixed the problem, sorry I'm not very good with technical terms of the parts, but I'm hoping you know what I'm talking about lol.

check to make sure your metal connectors are crimped on both the wire securely and the flat clamp side is still pressed/crimped down well enough to ensure its making its way through the outside plastic of the heat tape to the metal strip on each side of the tape.
