I know how you all feel, the only thing that is holding me back from acquiring any more at this point is room. I still have to make some racks for this year’s additions when they need bigger tubs, as well as hatchling racks for whatever my girls decide to produce. It's a rough life...

While I just got my first ball python about 2 weeks ago, I already have plans for new balls in the spring or summer (if I can even wait that long). I figure as long as you can care for them properly and are not putting yourself in financial debt (should I buy groceries or another ball?) enjoy your hobby.

Do Ramen Noddles and PB&J count as groceries?

Honestly though I could be paying double on my student loans to get out of debt faster but I'm not accruing more debt to pay for them.

I do greatly enjoy this hobby even if none of my family understands it.

I think we have all been on that diet at some point in our lives. If you haven't, you don't know what you are missing.

Keep enjoying your hobby and have a great holiday season.

more true words have not been spoken often. and there have certainly been times during which my snakes have eaten before I allowed myself to make a trip to the grocery store.

I'm squarely in kinra's camp as well. I've always kept a few non-mammalian pets ever since I was a child, from newts and snakes to birds and bearded dragons, but I began 2011 with a single ball python. now I have ten, more I can list without pausing to think about the contents of each individual rack or enclosure. if there is a herpetological anonymous organization, I want no part of it. personally looking forward to expanding my scope beyond balls when finances permit, but they'll always be the mainstay of my collection. and the most immediately identifiable source responsible for my addiction.

as perplexing as it may seem to many people, at least we have numbers.
