IBD really isn't as prevelant as you might think. If you buy from a reputable breeder, you really don't have too much to worry about. Or from a reputable store like Kindra did, that's ok too - especially if the boa is older and you can observe it for awhile before buying, you're better off. Just do a strict quarantine for new boas and you'll be fine as long as you educate yourself about the source - that's the most effective way to avoid IBD.

Feel free to PM me for more details if you're really interested in a boa.

Thanks! I've been on the lookout for mites, but I think she likes the water bowl because she's in a tub without a hide at the moment and the water makes her feel more secure.

Thanks, boas are amazing. Initially I was concerned about IBD until I realized 90% of what I was reading about it was from the 1980s. While it will always be a concern if you buy from a good source then there is a good chance you won't come across it.

Thanks! I really like her (even if she is fond of musking on me ).

I would like one snake that gets larger than my bp's and I think a dumeril is probably my best option.

I don't know if I can convince my husband on this idea though.
    Thanks!

I've given up on telling myself I'm done for a while. Ever time I say it I'm just lying to myself it seems because next week I'm getting something new in.

Dumeril's are amazing, but I also love my hypo jungle RTB. She's my pretty little princess.
