Welcome to Bp.net. Personally I have found this to be the friendliest forum around. I really haven't found any rude people on her. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask....

Thanks everyone! Let me give a little background on how I got started.

I started out with having a breeding pair of het albino colombian BCI's handed to me. I had never had a snake before, but the word free was thrown in,a nd my boyfriend jumped all over it. There names are/were Dante and Calypso. We were told Calypso had a RI, and she had been taken to the vet, but she was treated and cured. Now, alot of this will sound completely stupid and like a HUGE mistake to make, but I learned that after the fact, and I started out with 0 knowledge. So theres your fair warning.
Anyway, he supplied us with a 40 gallon breeder, a heat lamp, eco earth substrate, and a water bowl. For 5 and 6 foot boas, to live together in. Tehres red flag number 1 I was too dumb to realize. I now know, you NEVER put 2 snakes together, unless breeding, ESPECIALLY if one has an RI. Well, anywho, I was lucky enough to join a forum before I got the snakes, and had learned that ahead of time. I purchased a tub and set it up for the female, and was going to put the male in the tank. Problem solved. We got the pair home, got them set up, and I noticed the females mouth was swollen pretty bad. She was diagnosed with an RI, by a vet, and was treated with baytril. Thats what I was told. Dante, my male, did fine. Calypso though, overnight, developed horrible swelling in her mouth. She wasn't moving, she could no longer stick her tounge out, nothing. Her head had swelled twice its normal size. I started out with these snakes with NO money might i add. So i saw this, and was freaking out. My boyfriend came home, we took her to the only reptile vet around, and found out it was an abcess in her mouth. It had gotten very bad. The vet drained it the best he could, and he informed us on top of the 50 dollar vet bill for the evaluation, we need a series of five shots, spaced one every week, at 75 dollars a peice. I didn't even have the cash to pay for the first shot. He told us, even with the shots, she might not make it, since it was so bad. I contacted the old owner, who works at the local petco, and told him what was going on. He handed us the money for the first shot, and we planned on getting her the shot the next morning. The vet told us to soak her in a betadine and water solution for a bit,t o try to help as well. Well, turns out, the owners wife took her to a vet, that wasn't there regular one, and the vet misdiagnosed her. It wasn't his fault at all, like I originally assumed. WE took her home, and after about an hour, I got her bath ready, and was getting my boyfriends assistance with getting her out. She was moving around and all was fine. After about five minutes, when my boyfriend came to help me, we opened up the tub and it turns out the infection had reached her brain, and she had seized out. I had lost my first snake, within 2 days of owning them. I was heart broken.
Here is a picture of the girl, the day before she passed. Its NOT pretty, so if you don't like to see soemthing like this, please scroll past it.

Dante turned out to be 100% healthy though. He is just a beast though! Very big, bulky, and just overall powerful. He's definitely an amazing snake.
This would be my Het Albino BCI

Well, after Calypso passed, my boyfriend wanted to get me a snake, so I wouldn't shy away from the hobby. The guy who gave us the original two, ended up giving us for free, a Brooks King Snake. She is a beautiful girl. Absolutely love her, and have had no problems with her so far. She's about 3 feet right now I'm assuming, as I havne't been able to properly measure her. But here she is..
    This is Domino

After we had them for a few weeks, there was a reptile show close by. Of course we had to go.. There, we ended up picking up two sibling ball python males. They were awesome to us, and we have been fascinated by them ever since! We have had them both shed already, and Diablo is on f/t, and we are working on switching Aries over from live.
    Heres Diablo

    Then his brother Aries

So we had them for awhile, still no problems. Yes, I got alot of snakes at one time. It was an unwise decision at the time, but I do not regret it in the least. There all healthy, happy, etc. Minus the corn snake I got for my stepson
I had made a deal with him, that if he was good in school for 3 months, because he has some behavioral problems, I would get him a corn snake. Well, he did it! So we got him one. We tried for three weeks in a row, to feed this itty bitty thing. It refused to take food, and was just getting smaller and smaller. It also had a almost blue spot I could see on its stomach, almost as if it was a clog in its digestive system or something. Well, we took it back, because it was so skinny, it aws starting to deteriorate on its tail, and we wanted to see if they could save it. They traded him out for another corn that is about 10 inches long, and is very pretty. No pictures yet, since we just got him tonight.

But after we got the first corn snake, we had gone into petco to get our feeders, like we do every friday, and my friend says "come take a look at this!"
Someone had dropped off a 4 foot Central American and Colombian boa cross on Petco's front doorstep, in the cold, before business hours. This snake was living in a 20 gallon aquarium. He came with no heat, and he still has creases all along his body, from where he was coiled up for so long. He's in a tub right now, that is still a bit small, but we are trying to find Dante a bigger tank, so that we can put him in Dante's old one.
Since he was a cross, we decided to name him Muttley! He is probably the biggest baby I have ever seen. I just took him with us to Petco tonight, so that I could show my friend how he is doing. Mutley hung out on my shoulders, while the kids were touching him, asking questions, etc. It was very cute!

But this is my big boy Muttley! In the first one, you can really see the creases from being coiled up.

but, thats my current collection, and the story on how I got them all. There all my babies, and I love them! I have more and better pictures, but I'll post those up another time
