Keep in mind that you won't have the 40" sitting next to the 46" inch. In other words you aren't going to miss what you don't have unless its really bad.
It is actually for the bedroom...I already have a 57" tv in the living room . It will probably be mostly for miscellaneous tv/movie watching and gaming. I've never had a TV in my bedroom before, so figured something between 40"-46" would be ideal. The room is bigger than I originally stated, probably closer to 140 sq feet or so. It's not an overly bright or dark room...average I suppose.
