This. I'm positive if a customer walked into wherever you work where you are a vet tech, you're not going to blurt out "that's stupid" or "i just think that's dumb!" ...you would probably have to go work somewhere else if they told your boss.
You're just saying all that and blurting it out because you like to stir stuff up, and you're on the internet and you can. That's kind of sad. I'm glad the OP doesn't care though.
My dogs are around my friendly snakes all the time. An animal is an animal, and it's true you never know how one day they might react. Doesn't mean I'm going to get high and mighty at someone over it and say they're a bad owner. That's a bit of an overreaction and purposefully bratty. I'm pretty sure he didn't ask you to blurt out your un-thought-out opinion.

But, surely I suppose you know best...being a vet tech and all. What credibility to call someone stupid and say their husbandry is dumb! Quite eloquent as well.

Hm... I'm pretty sure it is up to the OP if he wants to "risk" it with his cat. Pretty sure a cat would not do any damage to a snake he is holding. I'm sorry, but I just don't see why anyone should get bent out of shape just because the OP tried to have a little fun with some pictures, his bp, and his apparently vicious cat

Some people get too opinionated and need to stop judging so much. It's not like anyone here is innocent of doing things that could have resulted badly, but most likely would not have. Pretty sure the OP knows that there is a small risk that his cat might savagely go after his snake And I'm pretty sure those commenting against him doing it have done plenty of things comparable.

I'm not taking sides here, I just think it is completely unnecessary to point out the tiny flaws here when no one here is perfect themselves.

Just a few opinionated, judgmental comments on your post .

    1. I dont think its a bad thing for people to make comments on a post that dont 100% agree with the OP. However, I do agree things could have been said with a little more tact.

    2. I will say, I have personally never had an outdoor cat, but I have had friends that do. Outdoor cats hunt and seem to be great catchers of birds, reptiles and rodents; and Ive never met a cat that was smart enough to know the difference between a wild animal and a pet.

    3. As I said before, I see it as similar to people who house two ball pythons together. I bet on most posts when they post pics, one of the first questions people ask is why are they risking it.

I personally do not think it is worth the risk, but that may be because Ive had a similar thing go wrong before (ex: my sugar glider attacked my dog and did a decent amount of damage to one of his ears after 2 years of being fine around each other). I learned my lesson. Not worth it.

Agreed. I still find there to be no reason to go off track with negative comments, but people can say what they want and that's fine.

Perhaps, and cats are curious creatures, but not all cats are like that - as he stated, his cat is lazy and finds no interest. Generally if a cat finds no interest in an animal, there is little threat. They know what they like and cats are individuals. For example, my cats really like geckos, in that i want to eat you sort of way. But they find much less interest in the snakes.

I think this is a bit different. Housing them together has more to do with being able to figure out who did what, as ball pythons are generally not cannibalistic, and if you call it risky due to the small chance of it, in comparison to this situation, I can see where you are coming from I suppose.

I guess I just don't see the point in negativity.
I don't see the point in creating conflict.
I try to remain optimistic, and if there are no current problems and risk is very low, I don't see what the big deal is.

I just think conflict was created in the way things were said, not in what was said. The negativity/conflict comes when you take it too personally.
