    1 month old BP size?

My ball is about a month old now and is much smaller than everyones i`m seeing on here and the web.he`s about 20in long and really skinny.I have digital scales they are little so i haven`t tried to weigh him on them.I`m feeding mice fuzzies right now.I`m wondering why he is so small.i just started feeding him every 4 days because i only have 4 fuzzies left and they aren`t leaving any noticable lump in his belly.

I just want to know should i go to rat fuzzies since they are about the same as hoppers/weaned mice and how hard will the switch be? Right now he`s on f/t fuzzies.i need opinions on f/t and live also.Should i switch or just stay with what`s working now?
The pics below you can see how skinny he really is just picture 20in and you can tell.
Let me know what yall think!
    Thanks all

Re: 1 month old BP size?

He is a little on the thin side, but every bp grows a little differently. I would definitely recommend upping his prey size though, he could handle a rat fuzzy (possibly even a rat hopper) no problem. Whatever is as big as the widest part of his body. Switching shouldn't be too difficult, but again it depends on the snake. You can always scent the first few rat pups by rubbing a mouse fuzzy on them as well to make the transition easier.

Without a weight its hard to tell you what it could handle but I would definatley move up in size He looks a little thin so feeding every 5 days on a bigger size should help with that

I agree with above posters, up the food size. Id say get one rat to start with and sent it if you have to. I am one of the lucky ones who who didn't have a problem switching from mouse to rat, lets hope you are too!

    Good Luck!

Re: 1 month old BP size?

Sorry the wife interupted before I could finish
I really prefer F/T rats far easier to feed that way. I just take the rodents out of the freezer and into the fridge the night before a little warm water then blow dryer to heat the rodent and scent the room. I heat to about 95-100 degrees F and BAM snake food. No rats to feed just a cooler in the freezer. If he is eating F/T now then by all means keep it up. To switch to rats get a mouse and rat the correct size. Freeze and thaw the rat in a bag with the mouse. Rub the mouse all over the rat as you blowdry it. This will scent the room with both scents then offer the rat. If the snake won't take it you have a thawed mouse to feed and try again the next week. Most of mine switched easily but I got one who is giving me a heck of a time switching. Good luck and feel free to ask if you have more questions

    Thanks to everyone!
I`m at work so it took me a min to get back but i will try a Rat Fuzzie. Good thing i still have a couple of mice fuzzies left to rub them down with!!! Hopefully it will work out good.

I had another thread on here about him not taking food from tongs but if i left it in the cage n come back 5-10 min later it was gone. You thing it`s cause they aren`t the right size? Never had a problem before he shed then he wouldn`t take them.
Do yall change food size after every shed or wait till you see body change?

Thanks once agian to everyone for the help!
