Less is more. I know it's hard but you really have to leave him alone for a while. He has to get to trust you. My Sav finally climbed up on me last week and that is after 7 months of hardly handling him. My Sambuca loves to come out and roam and be fed but he still has his days when he will hiss at anybody that comes close. Don't be discouraged, remember this is a monitor, not a Bassett Hound
