Restless during a storm?

We had a storm roll through for two days, and both my snakes became restless right as the front came in and until all of the rain passed. I have never seen them stress out like that before, and they were up and roaming constantly throughout the entire storm. They are acting completely normal now.

Nothing else changed - temps and humidity were the same as always, no changes in bedding, hides, etc.

Anyone else's snakes get like this during a big storm?

well, they say animals no before humans if something happens, so possible normal.

I'm not sure how old they are, or if you have a female also, but sometimes a change in the barometer will kick in their mating instincts.

Exactly. They can sense the change in barometric pressure. This can trigger a breeding response and they will want to seek out a mate

Interesting - would the female roam or the male? Or both? We aren't sure which gender they are. If they ever have to go to the vet, I was going to have them tested. One was born 6/23/09, the other is a few months younger. Both are in separate tanks.

Snakes are very sensitive to storms and changes in whether. They become very active and during a storm is the perfect time to pair BP's to copulate.
