First feed
Just got my first bp and I was wondering when i should attempt its first feed. The breeder i purchased her from said she was feeding on small rat pups. Any advice offered would be greatly appreciated.

Re: First feed
People usually recommend waiting a few days for her to settle in (along with zero handling). Use the search function for more information, as this question is asked quite a bit.

Second Annarose. Don't handle it for several days, its been through a lot of stress from being shipped. I waited a week to feed mine and he took it no problem, but ever snake can be a little different. If it doesn't eat when you offer, wait another 5 days or so before you offer again.

When you bring a bp home, it's generally best to wait 1 to 2 weeks before you try to feed them. That gives them time to settle in and get used to their surroundings.

Re: First feed
I just got my first BP as well this weekend so I'm speaking from absolutely ZERO experience...But when I got her from the reptile store they had a record of her being fed every Monday since July and I didn't want to mess up her schedule so I went ahead and fed her today...she was hesitant but i stood back an she did her thing. Was it the right way? Probably not...but she didn't miss a meal...

I let mine chill for a week with zero handling, then I try to feed.
