It's official, I hate MLA Formatting.

    Help! D:

I'm tying up the lose ends on a research paper and I can't for the LIFE of me figure out how to cite USARK's response to HR669. GAAH! It isn't helping that their website went down around midday today, too!

I was lucky enough to save the info to a separate document in google docs, so I have the text.. but I can't get the URL... and there wasn't necessarily a URL at all since it was a document you download.

Anyone an english guru on here? <3 Pleasehelpmeahhhh. I have no patience for MLA.

Re: It's official, I hate MLA Formatting.

    My other question is:

How the HECK am I going to in-text cite this? There are no listed authors that I can find.. and the next step would be the "article" title which is:

"United States Association of Reptile Keepers Position on Passage of HR669"

And daaaang that's a MOUTHFUL. Do I throw that whole mess in parenthesis to cite in text?

I hate MLA formatting too. I always have to look it up and even then I don't always have all the information that is required.

For the in text citation I believe you can use ... so something like "United ... HR669" should be fine, but I haven't had to do this in almost a year and a half so I could be wrong.

    Sorry I can't help more.

Yay! Thank you!! That actually helps a lot. That was my biggest thing left. Hehe, I never would of thought of that, I'm silly. Now I can finish this darned research paper... (once I add another 300 words! eek)

Wow.. I soooooooo don't miss the days of doing research papers.. Lol.. Formatting was always the most annoying. Sorry I dont have much more to offer. I always had to operate under APA formatting guielines. Good luck on your paper!

Heh...at least you get to format all this stuff on a computer with software that actually does most of the work for you. Back when I was doing research papers, we had to do all the formatting on good old fashioned typewriters. Sucked big time trying to guess how much space you'd need at the bottom of the paper for footnotes. I don't miss those days at all! LOL

Re: It's official, I hate MLA Formatting.

Dang.. I can only imagine doing it on a typewriter. I write so randomly I'd have to re-type the entire paper constantly.

I'm also quite happy that this English teacher doesn't require footnotes. Just a silly powerpoint, hoo-hah!

I officially finished! With this lame paper and the whole class after this. ;] Thank you guys.
