    Water Temps?

    Hey Guys,

I was thinking about this today and I was curious what is the temp for the water you give your Bps? Personally I give them luke warm water but I was wondering if there are benefits to a certain temp?

I'm gonna put it to a poll because I'm a poll guy today..

Well my Bp is given room temperature R/O water in his entire enclosure, his water dish partialy sits on top of his uth, so it gets somewhat warm, his swimming pool and fountain are in the center of his enclosure which is at an ambient temp of 82-84 degrees, so not exactly sure of the exact water temp. The most drinking he does is out of his fountain.
So I am going to go with "warm" as my vote.

Thanks for your response! And that is one really cool enclosure you have there!

I'll give them warm water when I change out their tubs every weekend. It helps the humidity in the tub and eventually reaches 80 which is what the room was kept at. But during the week it is usually a bit cooler but still not cold.
A room full of empty racks and thermostats that have been unplugged.

I give 'em room temperature water, I have a 5 gallon bucket that I refill regularly and let sit to dechlorinate, particularly because it's used for my springtail and isopod colonies, which are sensitive to chlorine.

I don't like to give them cold water, because that will suck out the heat of my snakes' cages/tubs until it heats up to the ambient air temp.

    Heyy, Jaxx

Where did you get that fountain? Does it work okay for you and your snake...I know most people say a waterfall is a tricky thing for a reptile enclosure.

    Re: Water Temps?

I have 3 2L pop bottles that i keep filled with water and rotate in use, they are kept under my enclosures so they are atleast room temp. I also let my water sit to Dechlorinate (Hence the 3 bottle rotation).

    Cheers,

    John

I give them either cold water or room temp water. I use water straight out of the tap all the time and I've never had an issue. Most of the time I use room temp water out of a gallon jug. When that runs out I just switch to using tap water. No difference between the two.
    Under Construction.....
