question of appropriate-ness of twilight breaking dawn movie

me & my daughter love those movies but im hearing/reading that its rated pg13 & still inappropriate for some audiences...i.e sex scenes, worse violence then before & the chaotic, drama of bella transforming/giving birth...
what's ya'll's take on it?
please no hijacking/trash talking in this thread, if thats what ya wanna do then please go do it elsewhere.
this is me asking fellow parents whether or not they'd
A) let their child see it with plenty of advance warnings & explanations on certain,um, scenes...
or
B) not allow it until they're of appropriate age.

I am a parent but not with a child old enough to talk let alone watch a movie. But my wife and I went and seen the movie last night with another couple. There are a few scenes with Bella in some very conservative lingerie. There is one scene where she has nothing on and is making out with Edward in the ocean, all you see though is their bodies together. There are worse things on TV right now.
The birth is bloody, but again you see worse on CSI.
I think overall they did a great job with saying what the wanted without showing to much.

PG13 hasn't been appropriate for some audiences for decades now. That's why each movie is rated to give you an idea of what to expect and make the decision whether you want your kids to see what's in it or not.

PG-13 — Parents Strongly Cautioned. Some Material May Be Inappropriate For Children Under 13. A PG-13 rating is a sterner warning by the Rating Board to parents to determine whether their children under age 13 should view the motion picture, as some material might not be suited for them. A PG-13 motion picture may go beyond the PG rating in theme, violence, nudity, sensuality, language, adult activities or other elements, but does not reach the restricted R category.

The book gives you a pretty good idea of what to expect. They can't tone the movie down too much and live up to the expectations of it. Especially with as broad of an audience that it has.

i realize the need for ratings & do appreciate them actually. i dont shelter my daughter from everything just the stuff that might be a little over the top. she is also aware that acting is just that...acting & that things that happen in movies (unless otherwise stated) are not real. she knows however, that birthing is not so much a happy happy joy joy experience yet she has not witnessed anything like it.

My boys are 11&12. If I question a movie, I watch it first then decide. The rating systems don't really work, there are things that are far from acceptable for a kid and because there is no violence or nudity it gets a low rating. I know my boys and what messes with them, there are R rated movies I'd let them watch and pg movies I wouldn't.

I will say the book has more detail in it then the movie does.
And if you do go see it then make sure you stay through the credits. There is a clip in the middle of the credits.

Im not a parent, however I do work at a movie theatre so I might be of assistance. Im curious, how old is your daughter?

Stuff like these movies/books are not appropriate for my son to have in our house it's just not cool with me.

I just saw a Nivea commercial with naked body parts of females exposed (from below the breast to above the hip, bare backs down to almost the bum), and a woman rubbing cream on the side of her butt, with a man who comes up behind her and puts his face on her butt and wraps his arms around her.

That seems about as inappropriate as what was described in what I read in the link that someone gave.

I second: "how old is your daughter"?
