Nope, not the crease. It's bold black markings that web out over the entire bottom of his jaw. doesn't look like a burn, and is symmetrical. It can be seen when he's not eating just by turning his head over, and the marks sort of stretch out but become detached if you move the skin around (markings are on the scales, not on the skin underneath)
