where do you get your tubs

I have been doing my research for some new racks that I want to get. I know that i will eventually get a boaphile rack but I also like the Animal plastic racks( juvenile/adult rack 15qt./32qt). If you have animal plastics racks tell me how you like it and where did you get your tubs for it?
and if you have a boaphile rack how do you like it?

Re: where do you get your tubs

I have an Animal Plastics rack; it's a 9-slot rack (not sure on the model number) that fits either 9-32 quart Sterilite tubs or 18-16 quart Sterilite tubs. I love it! Allie with Animal Plastics is great to deal with and their customer service is second to none. If you get one, I'd highly recommend the caster wheels for it. They're only a little additional in cost but they make a world of difference, as the expanded PVC that the racks are made of can be pretty heavy and if you ever need to move it once it's assembled, those wheels come in handy. As far as heat retention, it does a pretty good job. Our house is older than dirt (110 years old) and not well insulated so I run a space heater in the room I house my snakes in. I keep the ambient room temps around 75 in the winter in that room and then set the Herpstat II to 98 to achieve an ambient temp of 86 in the tubs. So far I've not had any issues with it and plan on buying from them in the future.

As to tubs: those are a pain. I lucked out and found some at Target when I was out one day and bought all they had. I've also seen the 32 quart Sterilite tubs at Big Lots, if you're familiar with and have one of those stores around you. They were quite a bit cheaper at Big Lots than at Target but anyway...live and learn, lol! If nothing else, the 28 quart Sterilite tubs that Walmart sells will fit that same Animal Plastics rack only you have to leave the lids on. They fit snug but they will fit if you can't find the 32 quart size. Hope that helps and good luck!

Re: where do you get your tubs

First and foremost thank you very much for your service! My family and I very much appreciate those that current do serve or have served in the armed forces.

You might be better off getting a rack that will accept Iris tubs then, if you're overseas. I'm not positive but I think they have better availability than Sterilite does and might be easier to find across the pond. I know Boaphile and Animal Plastics both make racks that fit or accept the Iris tubs, depending on what size you'd want to use. I know you can order the CB-70 size Iris tubs through Amazon and various other .com sights that might save you some money on shipping. I dunno...just a thought. Good luck and stay safe!
