    Favorite Fall Foods

First off, I have to say this: I am really, REALLY bored.

    Sorry.

*cough* Well! I, for one, love fall. It's my favorite time of year, with the weather starting to cool down (and as I live on Texas, this is a very welcome thing), the leaves changing colors, and being able to eat some of my favorite foods again.

This thread is for the discussion of foods we associate with fall weather, our favorite ones, and possibly even to post recipes for them.

I'm saying this now, because I can just feel it's going to crop up: No arguing on who's chili is the best.

Because it's mine. *smacked with a rolled up newspaper* Just kidding, I'm sure there are a lot of members with great chili recipes. I have no right to say mine is best, especially since the rest of my family refuses to eat the chili I make (something about "It's too spicy!" And "I taste pain..." And "I need a doctor!" Big babies.)

Anywho! Feel free to talk about any food that you associate with fall here!

    Squash squash squash.
Squash soup, ravioli, as a side.

    Yum!

Baby lima beans with ham, beef barley soup.

Because I love them both and I can finally cook them without heating the house up to just this side of hellish.

    Turkey.

I am stupid about turkey, I don't wait for Thanksgiving either, I buy two or three at the low prices this time of year, and as soon as it gets cool enough to have the oven on all day, I'm cooking turkey. I eat the leftovers for days, while everyone else in the family turns their noses up after the first meal.

Pumpkin spice cake with cinnamon buttercream frosting. Cookies of all kinds, I'm a baking fool in the fall and winter.
