Starting to get concerened.
My little Hog island is in shed. I have had him for about a week and a half. He started going into shed and his eyes looked greyish. Now they dont but he has not shed yet. He also has not seemed interested in food whatsoever. He is about 18 inches long and weighs about 97g. He is in a temporary enclosure, newspaper substrate, flexwatt heat source. 90 hot side high 70s cool side. I dont have anything to check humidity yet but I keep his water on the hot side.
He currently has the same setup my BPs have, and they shed perfectly. Only difference is i put the water on the hot side for more humidity.
If I soak him for a an hour or so like I read, and run a towel on him, how hard should I press?

It takes them a few days to shed, how long ago did he clear up? Can you tell he has stuck shed?
If he does have stuck shed and you use the soak and towel method, you don't really press. You create a tunnel they need to work their way through, so not too tight but tight enough that they need to wiggle a bit to get through.

Well his eyes cleared up maybe two days ago. His skin just looks really baggy now. I might have to just try and take pics with my phone tonight.

Give him a few more days. It usually takes a little over a week for my boa's to shed after they go into blue. 3-4 days after they go back into clear. I would really recommend getting something to measure humidity in your enclosure to know what it is at.

I will go and pick one up when I get off of work. I am thinking about switching him to cypress mulch for him and my albino columbian coming in on wednesday. Hold humidity better then newspaper i was told. And the not eating part? weighing 97g is that for an 18 inch hog island? How long should he go without eating before i should be concerned?

I have one boa that will not eat whenever it goes into shed. It shows no interest until the shed is complete. You have only had him for a week and a half. Normally I don't ever try to feed for at least the first 5-7 days. Then if they don't eat they wait until the next week to be offered food again. I've had new additions go a month without eating.

He should shed in the next couple of days. Offer him food after the shed. Be careful and use tongs. They have fierce feeding responses and can detect heat.

I've noticed that boas seem to go a touch longer than BPs do once they clear up after the blue stage. My BP will go blue and about 5-6 days later she'll clear up and 3-4 days after that, she sheds. My boa clears up and doesn't shed for 6-7 days! But she eventually gets around to it, lol....
