Optimator is a phenomenal beer, and one of my personal favorites. It's a doppelbock, so not really directly comparable to Guinness (an Irish dry stout) except in that it's very dark. For that matter, Spaten's Munich Dark is quite good as well - a bit less sweet, though, and I think a bit lower alcohol content (Optimator is pretty strong).

Another good doppelbock you might enjoy if you like Optimator is Paulaner Salvator.

    Who makes Batch 9001?
I have no idea, I just picked up 3 singles, by the time I was done, I was so buzzed that I just threw away the bottles without reading them, lol
    I'll google it and see...

There is another one I found last year that is brewed locally....Dirty Helen.
    Pretty hoppy, but very tasty!

I love me some Dog Fish Head but no one close by carries them. I usually pick up some Sierra Nevada at my local Publix. I would say the green lable one is comparable to the Dog Fish Head 60 IPA.

Just tried your Old Man Winter Ale last night, and liked it quite well. Interesting aroma, hoppy without being overwhelming, and a nice flavor. It was the first Southern Tier brew I'd tried, and it certainly left me willing to explore more of your catalogue.

Dead Guy from Rogue Brewery is by far my favorite, but I always keep Fat Tire in the fridge. I am also a fan of Spaten Optimator, Black Butte Porter, Guinness and pretty much any beer that you have to chew before swallowing. I am not a fan of frat water or anything in a green bottle though.
