When woul you....
I acquired one of my female bps in Feb this year. She was 300 grams when I got her and have no info on her history. She is around 1200 grams today. When would you stick her with a male?

It depends who you talk to. Some will say wait until she is 3 years old and is 1500 grams, others will say it depends on the individual and will breed certain females at 900 grams. If your 1200 gram girl is healthy and you have a male to put her with, I would consider giving her a go. A lot of breeders say the female will let you know if she is ready. This is my first year pairing, I can only relay what I've read.

Some people say 1200grams other people say 500 grams per 12" with a minimum of 3 feet, some people say not till 3years old. Honestly, if she's healthy and you have a male for her than go for it!! That's just my opinion.
Goodluck!

I'd wait until next season, she's probably only a year old if she was 300 grams in Feb.
100 grams a month is my target range for females, most of mine gain that, not all of course but most do.

Sounds like she is a mid-late 2010 that eats well... that puts her about a year old... I'd be hoping she produces follicles next year.

My oldest female was hatched on 7/13/10. She was 306 grams on 2/20/11. She's just shy of 1200 grams now. I'm planning to breed her in January of 2013 if she seems ready. She'll be 2.5 years by then.
I hope I don't have to wait until she's 3, that will put it into the summer and I'm not sure she'd take in the heat. I might have to wait for cooler weather, and that would put her at about 3.2 years old. Don't want to wait that long!

She looked great when I got her (photo is 1/2 hour after bringing her home late Feb).
