    Custom "Rack" Question.

Hey everyone, I decided to make my own single tub "rack" and i was wondering if I could get some pointers on how to heat it.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

it looks nice! you could use heat tape: http://www.reptilebasics.com/flexwatt-heat-tape ,but your gonna need some kind of thermostat to regulate it, the herpstat seems popular, ive never used one though, but im sure someone else can point you in that direction

with just a single tub your best bet is too get a reptile heat pad from your local pet shop and wire in a dimmer switch. make sure you get a temp gun to keep temps accurate

    Re: Custom "Rack" Question.

I used Minwax, Im pretty sure it is water based. even if it is possibly toxic, I sealed the wood with polycyclic, so I think I will be ok on that. I will defiantly look into that. Thanks for the heads up.

Should I go ahead and get 11in flexiwatt and just cover a third of the bottom with it? or should I do something else?

4 inch flexwatt should be sufficient unless it is the very bottom tub in which case I would use the 11. the water based Polycrylic is ok I have used it before when I had Burms and they lived long lives.
