    Shrink tube is great for wire to wire weather proofing but it will not work on flex a watt wiring
    You can solder your leads straight to the flex and cover with electrical tape OR if you really want to make sure its covered you can use "liquid" electrical tape BUT its worse that green buggers to get off of everything you drip it on
