My ball pythons switched to rats like it was nothing!

I decided to switch all my ball pythons to rats and they all ate one with no hesitation! Could it be that I started breeding rats in the same room as my ball pythons so the scent made it a lot easier for them to pick up the taste? Does anybody else breed rats in the same room as their ball pythons?

Congrats. Some will switch without hesitation, and others can be stubborn. Having them in the same room may have played a part. Mine won't have anything to do with mice now that I switched them. I just had to stock up at the pet store because my guy hasn't had rats lately.
    Can't stop with just one!

I thought mine were going to give me trouble with the switch, but he apparently loved it lol

Same here. In fact when I fed Captain Hook her first live rat it was the first time in a couple months that she ate it straight away and didn't rub her face all over its body for over five minutes. And she even did that with the two gerbils I fed her before I switched her to rats.

I agree! They all seem to love rats more than mice. They strike immediately! I really think breeding rodents in the same room as the ball pythons will make them switch much easier. 2 of my rats just gave birth...Woohooo....Waiting for 4 more females to drop a litter. I have my own lil rat factory. LOL.
