Its cold!!!!
26 F! It's extremely cold here in MA. My tanks thermometers read 66! both have UTH and heat lamps, and the cold persists! I cannot find a way to heat these tanks, how on Earth can I raise these temps to safe levels?

Do you have any space heaters you can use? Just put one in the room on high and see if it helps.

I live in Lowel, very cold indeed today! My house is cold and I would go broke if I kept the heat running at 77F. I got an oil-filled space heater, they work great. It only cost me 35 bucks at Home Depot.

It's also worth mentioning that if the power goes out you should look into a small propane heater. You can get them from most Home Depots and the one I got was $80. Good to have in a pinch..

Space heaters, insulate the tanks, use a higher wattage bulb, add a second lamp...all I can think of right now. Do you have any rooms that are just naturally warmer you could move them to.

It is often an issue cool rooms increase the challenge a lot. The simple solution is to raise the room temps. That is not always practical. Insulation will go a long way a secondary heat source will also help. The height of the enclosure also makes a big difference tanks with open tops sometimes are hard to heat due to the height and open toped ventilation.
I keep my snakes in a cool room generally 68ºF but careful attention to heating patterns and using a grab bag of heat sources keeps the ambient air temps 79-85ºF cool 80 and hot 90. It can be done it just isn't easy.
Insulation first, second heat source second (cool side uth) then it gets really custom my side turned tank is in the coolest room I have. It is working quite well. here is what I did plus insulation in the winter and fluorescent light day and LED deep blue night also help the air temps in my set up. It worked for me I could work for you maybe. No direct answers here it is individual set ups.
