    For the Freedom Breeder owners...

I have a question for those of you who own Freedom Breeder racks or ARS racks. With all the recent talk of building these style racks I have decided to try this myself. I have worked out all the details pretty much but I can't find bus tubs in a decent size. Even buying from Freedom Breeder or ARS directly I can't find a size I like. It seems the medium size is roughly 22" x 16" and the next step up is a cb70. The 22x17 seems really small. So do you guys just go from that to a cb70 or is there an in between tub out there I'm not finding?

Not sure. I'll have to measure the tubs and post again. But my big male went from a 32q into the cb70 40q with no issues

Yea but the medium tub that freedom breeder and ARS sells is no where near a 32qt. It's actually a good bit smaller than a 28qt. Actually it's not that much bigger than a 15qt

Have u looked at the racks from reptilebasics? I like the hatchling rack with 15q, its the shoebox size, that I got from them but ill be getting a medium sized soon. They have good sizes as far as mediums go

Yea Iris and sterilite tubs won't work with an ARS style rack. The tubs actually hang from slides and sterilite and Iris tubs lip isn't strong enough.

I think your math might be alittle bit off.

The ARS 30 series tub is 28.85 qts (21.5*15.5*5=1666.25/57.75=28.8528)
The Freedom Breeder Medium tub is 29.8 qts (21.5*16*5=1720/57.75=29.7835)

I use Vision racks and their medium is 20x15x5.3 27.5 qts, so just alittle smaller than the ARS and Freedom Breeder. But it works pretty well for up to about 1000grams or so.

    Hope this helps.

Yea I guess once I checked I see that you're right but still there's no real in between. You end up putting any animal over 1000 grams in a cb70. Guess I just didn't realize there wasn't a step between a 28qt size and a 41qt size. Maybe I'm just being OCD. Lol thanks guys.
