    Surprise ovulation

I felt some follicles about a month ago but I didn't really expect her to go this quick. She's been soaking for 6 days straight and came out looking like this:

Whatcha think? Maybe she just has gas.

Thanks. She was paired with my pastel boy because he was the only one that was ready. I wish I had a bit more time to put her with my butter and lesser boys, but oh well. I really just need some eggs to play with before next season.

2 Pastels and 2 Normals survived out of this 6 egg clutch. I had a boob egg and a egg that was laid a week early that both didn't make it.

What do you think of these pastels (same sire)? The two on the left are from the same clutch, and the one on the right is about a month older and is there for comparison.

Also, the top left one is somehow in shed again already?? She shed 10/15, greyed out again 10/17, cleared out a little bit a few days ago and still hasn't shed. No idea what's up with her.

Sorry you lost a few eggs . The one on the bottom left is really nice! The mom might have played a roll in contributing to the really nice one's looks. But we hatched 3 pastels this year from the same clutch and same sire and one is smokin' and the other two are so-so. It's interesting to see the different grades of pastels one male can produce.

The one that was greyed out finally shed. She's really tiny and thin at 37 grams. Gonna try an ASF fuzzy with her tonight and I'm thinking about assist feeding if she doesn't take it.
