    What would you do?

So I have a het pied pair that don't seem to intent on locking up. I've seen tails next to each other but it didn't look like courting and I've never seen a lock. I have a spider male that has been locking up like mad with my pastel female.

My question is should I just throw him in with the het pied female so I could get some spiders? Or can I throw in the het pied male het pied female and spider all in together and hopefully the het pied male will man up and get the job done? Basically what would you do?

I know its early still but down the road what should I do if I still don't witness a lock or see any signs of possible locking? This is my first year breeding so ya I'd like to get two clutches so let me know what you guys think thanks in advance

i dont know much but after looking at snakebytes, you could do the method that you were talking about and put the spider in the same tub and have a little competition. Or, I think this is what Ralph davis said, and I dont know if you want to do this, get the sperm of the male het pied and just rub it on the male to attract the female. Ralph davis had a video of him doing this.

My goodness people are impatient! It's WAY early in the season. Most people don't even start the breeding season till November or December. If it was March/April and you weren't seeing any locks I would be slightly worried, but there are plenty of sneaky snakes that are never caught locking and they end up having babies. You just need to sit back and wait for things to happen naturally. Breeding snakes is a very long process. I started pairing in December last year and didn't get my first eggs until July 2nd. This isn't a hobby that you are going to get instant gratification from.

Be patient it is still early I have some animal locking right now while some other could not care less, breeding season has just started and actually many people still have not starting to pair their animals.

And remember because you do not witness a lock does not mean it does not happen, I have had clutches from animals I never witness a lock from
